Project description

At bol.com, I led the UX team responsible for improving the Lists and Product Detail Pages. We launched several initiatives aimed at enhancing the shopping experience and increasing conversion, with projects that included:

  • Improved price communication and promotion label consistency
  • Research and design for the bol Select service and subscription-based product delivery
  • Adaptive list and detail page designs based on category-specific needs
  • Enhanced visibility for bol plaza partners on product pages

Role Responsibilities
My role as UX Lead involved leading a talented team, coordinating across departments, and engaging in hands-on design work:

  • Team Leadership: With a team of varying experience levels, I focused on coaching, professional development, and supporting the delivery of prototypes and designs ready for A/B testing.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Lists and Product Pages intersected with many departments, each with unique requirements. My role involved bridging these needs while adhering to design patterns, which ensured efficient scalability and maintainability. By aligning departmental goals within unified design patterns, I was able to reduce bespoke solutions, improving time-to-market and design consistency.
  • Hands-On Design: I actively contributed to design projects, refining the design system and collaborating with other UX teams to maintain a consistent, cohesive shopping experience across bol.com.

This multi-faceted role allowed me to drive initiatives that not only improved the customer experience but also aligned cross-functional goals for efficiency and scalability.
